Happy Halloween

Just a quick note to wish everyone a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

We get to see precious Beckett from "The Hood Life" (http://mattandanniehood.blogspot.com/) tomorrow night dressed  up in his little giraffe outfit!  Mom and Dad will be pulling him around to a few houses in his new Radio Flyer wagon.

Here are two kiddos I won't be seeing this weekend, but I am so excited their Mom's have already shared plenty of photos with me!  Here are a few!  You are never to young or old to have fun during this time of year!

My little Hot Dog, Grace

Tulsa Run

This Saturday Jack and I will be running in the Tulsa Run, along with a few friends.  My friends Natalie and Emily and I have all been training since somewhere around July.  I never thought I would be able to run the distances I have been running the past few months.  It just goes to show how your body is capable of doing just about anything you push yourself to do.  This weekend's run is 9.3 miles (15K).  The girls and I have not only decided to run in the Tulsa Run this weekend, we are actually going to take it one more step and run in the Route 66 Half Marathon in November, which is 13.1 miles!!!  But let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Item #1 up for business, complete this weekend's race.  Here is the map of the route we will be taking:

After the run, we plan on celebrating with lunch and cocktails on a patio!  Then, watch the Sooners dominate Colorado that night!  Anyone in the Tulsa area, feel free to come out and support us at the finish line!

What's Been Going on Lately..... In Pictures

I purchased this new Dylan's candy bar table book.  I love this book.  It reminds me of my girls trip to NYC that we took back in college.  great memories!
I made my first batch of Pumpkin Bread.
Eating Cheese and Crackers in bed.... Someone wanted some cheese!

Tank and Hef waiting on the Pizza Guy.

I never thought I would be the kind of runner that ran so far I would have to buy one of these.  It's amazing what you can do if you just put your mind to it.

Homemade Blueberry Cupcakes.  Just kidding, I made them from a box.  I just wanted to show off my Happy Everything Platter.  Oh and the cute napkins "What happens tonight will show up on Facebook tomorrow".

So pretty!  Took a trip to Under The Sun for some Fall Flowers!

I recently made chicken enchiladas.  Super yumm.  I layered them in a casserole dish instead of rolling them up.  Great recipe given to me by my mom's sister-in-law Debbie.
Mary sent me these evil eye bracelets this week!  I love them for two reasons.  #1 they remind me of my grandmother.  She use to have quite a few evil eye pieces around her house. #2 Mary called them our friendship bracelets.  Thanks, MARY GREEN!

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup!  Great recipe from the Food Network
It's Fall!  Mother T had a bale of hay last year, so I thought I should steal the idea this year.  How great are the pumpkins?  They were CHEAP too!

Okay, that is all for now!  Happy Thursday everyone!

Halloween Costumes!

The decision has been made!  We are going as Jesse James and Michelle "Bombshell" McGee.  I have ordered a few items online today to help with our "outfits".  Don't worry, I won't be wearing swastika's around Tulsa, but other tattoo's I will adorn.  I will let everyone know how it turns out!

Maybe one of these years we will be something cute and innocent.  Like M&M's or Charlie Brown characters..... But maybe not.  During Halloween, aren't you supposed to be a little bad?!

I bet bad girls know better than to wear nude bras under black :)

My First Guest Blog Spot

Hi Velcro Dog readers! My mom told me I get to guest blog from time to time.  I am so excited.  Almost as excited when she gives me cookies dipped in peanut butter!!!

This weekend was pretty fun.  I had a new friend stay with me for the weekend.  His name is Hef.  I love him so much.  We got along so well..... that is until he started scoping out all of my TOYS!  Some people may call me spoiled, but what's mine is mine, and I don't like other pups playing with my stuff.  What's the harm in that?!  I guess it is something I could work on.

I have a few favorite toys.  #1 being my green frog from PetsMart.  My mom gave it to me two years ago for Christmas and since then, I have shredded through probably 6 of them.  Luckily she buys replacements when that happens!  I also really love my blue octopus from Mary. Everytime I play with it, it reminds me of my Aunt Mary.  Each time she comes to Tulsa, she brings me a little something.  She brought me a dress when I was a puppy that my dad wasn't TOO thrilled about :)

Here is a pic of most of my toys. I LOVE stuffed animals that squeek!  All of these toys also keep me from chewing on my mom and dad's stuff.  Like their shoes, make-up bags, rugs.... I could go on.

Okay readers, until next time.  I am off to go chase some bunnies in the backyard.

Julie & Julia

What did I do last Fall on Tuesday nights?  Was I watching something?  I can't remember being this bored on Tuesday's last year?  Since there is nothing on TV that Jack and I watch... or can agree to watch, I had my choice at picking out a movie for us.

We went to Blockbuster.  Isn't it funny that those still exist?  Jack and I got into the discussion of why people still go to Blockbuster when you can order movies at home?  We can order movies through DirectV, but we went to Blockbuster anyway.  I guess that is why Blockbuster's still exist.

We rented Julie & Julia.  I called Mother T to see if she had watched this movie.  I can't really trust her as a movie critic, because she led Jack and I astray one time..... FAR far astray.  We actually watched the worst movie ever and Mother T raved about it.  But she said I would LOVE Julie & Julia.  We watched it and I LOVED LOVED it.  I love how this girl blogged about food and followed a cookbook and LEARNED about Julia Child.  How interesting.  I love to cook, but I am not a "make up your own kind of recipe" girl.  Following cookbooks is what I like to do best.  Or following cooking blogs.  Those are in fact my new favorite!  Please send me any and all great recipes you find!  Sidenote:  Jack Wikipedia'ed Julia Child and turns out she really didn't like Julie's blog because of all of the cuss words she used :)  True life.

Julie got me thinking about my own blog..... and why the heck I have one?  I don't blog about anything specific.  I don't have a baby to flash around on the internet.  I guess I have Velcro Dog and he is the reason I started this blog to begin with.  To tell you about my life with him and Jack.  Maybe I should start having Tank be a guest writer once a week?  We will see.  Speaking of Tank, he is having a guest stay with us this weekend.  Hef, another English Bulldog (see pic below).  I will let everyone know if I survive all of the slobber this weekend.

Hef's Dad has a Porsche, but Velcro Dog prefers his Mom's Accord :)

Happy Two Years of Blogging to my amazing friend Alexis at http://ppppffffftttttt.blogspot.com/!  I can't believe she has been blogging for 2 years!  Today also marks her 4 year anniversary at RPI!  Congrats!

Zaney Bands

They are just for children anymore.  I have friends who wear these little bands around.  They seem to be all the rage.  The makers of Zaney Bands must be making a killing.  I came across these fun bands the other night and just HAD to share.  Kama Sutra!!!

Husband's at Whole Foods....

Yesterday Jack was in charge of picking up a bottle of wine and a few things at the grocery store, aka, dinner for Thursday night and a couple other things.  Jack stopped at the liquor store, which is right next to Whole Foods, so he just decided to go do his grocery shopping there.

Whole Foods isn't the kind of grocery store where the average American can just go in and purchase all of the necessities. It gets pretty $$$. I visit for a few things here & there and flowers. When Jack goes into grocery stores, he tends to stray. That is why when I write him out a grocery list, I normally write or verbally tell him "Don't stray from the list."

Yesterday after work I called Jack to check and make sure everything was going alright at the store and see what he had decided for dinner.  He said he was so mad at himself because he went into Whole Foods and they were having a wine and cheese tasting.  Straying away from "the list" he purchased 4 different kinds of cheeses, 5 individual gatorades, 3 packages of crackers and the most odd smelling, green, eco-friendly laundry detergent I have ever smelt.  His total: $63.00.  He said he was so mad at himself for spending that much money on cheese and crackers.  I think this may have been Jack's first encounter with buyers remorse.  I have this quite a bit from time to time (normally from a great boutique), but Jack rarely does.  It hit him hard.  So so funny.

Last night, Jack and I ate cheese & crackers and drank wine for dinner.  I did two loads of laundry with the smallest most expensive bottle of laundry detergent in the world.  We made a deal that I would be the main grocery shopper in the house from now on and he would just help me upload the sacks when I get home :)
