Holidays This Year

I am a planner.  I think I always have been.  I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.  On the upside, I always know what is going on and what is to come - down on the downside, sometimes my plans I thought I had don't seem to pan out the way I planned, which can be very sad.

It's finally September!  The air in Oklahoma is getting cooler and football is fresh on people's minds.  Jack and I were talking about what we could dress up Mr. Tank as for Halloween this year a couple weeks ago.  Then it reminded me of how Jonathan was supposed to be here at Halloween.  I had planned on him being here for Thanksgiving.  It was going to be his first Christmas.  This is where the downfall comes into play for me.  Now, instead of having that planned, it's all just wishful thinking.  Not a reality or set plan anymore.  A baby won't be in our house this year for the holidays.  It hurts.

Maybe sometimes planning isn't the best thing.  My goal for the rest of 2011 is to live in the moment and not let these precious days pass me by while I am waiting/planning for the future to come.

  1. holidays are really hard, but you will get through them. I really had to focus on the future versus thinking of how it SHOULD (or what I thought) have been. I just kept thinking..the next year will be better.

  2. Thinking of you. I can't imagine how hard that must be. God must have another plan for you.

  3. God has BIG plans in store. Lifting you up during this time. I love what you said about living in the moment too. Always need reminding with that. Matthew 6:25-34 is good for that area :)
