To many, Easter means different things. As a Christian, I celebrate it as the day that Jesus rose from the tomb. He died on the cross to save me from my sins, was buried in the tomb and rose again.... I have heard the story for years and know what it means, I am a believer. To others Easter is a day when a big bunny rabbit comes along and hides eggs in the front yard and all around the house. Some might get lucky and find a prize egg with money stashed inside. It's a day for you and your sisters to all get dressed up in the same puff painted bunny decal shirt your mom made you the week before. Then there are people who don't recognize or celebrate the holiday at all. Which is a shame, because if you don't celebrate Easter in ANY WAY, then you are probably missing out on these puppies:
Why is the Reese's Egg so much better than the original Reese's Cup? Does it have to do with the shape? More Peanut Butter? The chocolate is softer? What is it that attracts me to these little dudes. I swear I could eat ten in one day (not could but have). The same goes with the Reese's Christmas Trees. Yum, they bring joy to my tummy. But, if I had to pick a favorite it would be the incredible Egg. It's such a joy. Everyone stop on your way home from work and pick up a bag today. I promise you won't eat just one :)

Spring has Sprung!!!
It's hard to believe living in Oklahoma, you could go from this one weekend:
To this the next weekend:
To this the next weekend:
This weekend we cleaned out the flower beds and planted flower pots. It was so nice outside (a little windy on Saturday, but nice). I can't wait for everything in my flower beds to start blooming! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! This is a 4 day week for most of us!
A little bit of fun information for you this Monday morning. Last week I gave Jack a quiz. I asked him how many legs an Octopus had. He responded "Six". Jack has always given me a hard time because I once thought Thanksgiving didn't always fall on Thursday's. Are we now considered even?
My new favorite picture of me and Velcro Dog!

Does Money Buy Happiness?
An interesting thought was brought to my attention this morning. Does money buy happiness.....
I have a friend who is sitting in magistrate court right now. Had she paid a ticket, she would not have been having to deal with this annyoing situation bright and early on St. Patrick's Day. I mean who likes to go downtown, wait around, be crowded in a room with people you may not want to be crowded with..... If she would have just PAID the ticket in the first place, she probably would have been happier right now. In this situation, I would say money would have bought her happiness.
A lot of times you hear about weathly stars who O.D. on drugs, get DUI's, have bad relationships, cheat on their wives / husbands, etc. Wouldn't you think they would be happy and not want to do those things? They are stars for goodness sake! They have everything in the world at their finger tips. Most of them are good looking, make mega bucks, appear in films / ads, can purchase any designer label they want..... What MORE could they want? And yet we still see them in the news making the worst mistakes. Is it because they are not happy? Or is it because too much money is a bad thing?
(WRITERS NOTE: I do not think all stars are screw-ups, obviously, I am only talking about the ones that get into trouble. I am not labeling "stars").
Jack and I had planned on purchasing a bully ever since we first started dating. We both loved the dogs and thought they were adorable! The day we picked up VELCRO DOG, money bought happiness. Tank brings so much love and happiness into our home. There is nothing like walking in from work and him shaking around me just wanting to be pet. He is always so excited to see me and it makes me SO HAPPY.
Now I am not saying money does or does not buy happiness. Who am I to decide that? I just wanted everyone to do a little thinking this morning. What makes YOU HAPPY? Does it cost or is it free? And is the old saying "money doesn't buy happiness" we were all taught growing up really true? Maybe so, maybe not.
Happy Happy St. Patricks Day to all of my readers (all 5 of you!).

I Heart Austin
Last weekend was a success in every way! Austin was amazing, Jessica and Russell's shower was so nice and fun and Tank made it through his first weekend at camp with flying colors!
Friday night we all had dinner at Gueros! YUMM. Can you say "best corn tortilla ever made"?! After a wonderful dinner we headed to this outdoor/indoor bar with live music. Excuse me, I forgot the name of this place. I highly suggest it though. Saturday the group of us had a nice lunch at Chuy's Hula Hut on the water. I loved every minute of it. Jack and I drove around where all of the big houses are on the hill. I seriously had to keep reminding myself we were IN AUSTIN. Seriously, what do all of these people do with these HUGE houses? It was like nothing I have ever seen. Beautiful. After that journey we went and toured around UT for a little bit. It completely took me by surprise. I loved it and thought it was so pretty!
Sunday driving home was LONG for one reason. I was so excited to pick up Mr. Tank I could hardly stand it! When we got to camp bow wow and Tank rounded the corner of the lobby, he was a wiggle machine! So happy to see us! We could tell he had a great time because it took him about 2 days to recover from his active weekend. He slept A LOT on Sunday night and Monday :)

This and That
Tank passed his interview! It was SO FUNNY. The lady said Tank interacted with the trainer in the room better than with the other pups. We told her it was because he thought he was a human. She said he did very well, as Jack and I could see from the "Camper Cam" in the lobby. Jack is dropping him off Friday around 10am, anyone who is bored, feel free to check-in on Tank playing! He will probably be on camera 3 or camera 6. They told us how to download this onto Jack's phone so we will be watching Velcro Dog play all the way down on our drive to Austin. I am so exicted for Austin by the way! I have only been once and it was only for the night, so I am looking forward to exploring the city with some fun people. Jessica and Russell have a couples shower on Saturday night. Should be a great trip! See the fun group below:
A meal to make this weekend (kind of a favorite in our house):
Chicken Stir Fry
1/2 Yellow Onion
1 Red Bell Pepper
Fresh Broccoli
Carrot Sticks
Almonds (yumm)
Soy Sauce
Olive Oil
Chicken (or shrimp, or steak OR vegetarian)
Fat Free Catalina
Crushed Red Pepper
You can basically put in any veggies you would like. Slice your veggies and chicken. Heat up stir fry pan with a dash of olive oil and toss in your chicken. Cook until almost done and add a few shakes of red pepper. Next give it a few shakes of soy sauce. Add your almonds. Then I add my onions, bell pepper, carrot sticks and let them cook. After a few minutes I add my fresh broccoli (I don't want it to overcook and get soggy). Add about 1/3 to 1/2 bottle of Catalina Fat Free dressing. The spicey red pepper and the sweet catalina give it a good combination! Remember, continue stirring because you are cooking this on a pretty high heat!
Jack and I use Success Boil-in-a-bag brown rice and place the stir fry mixture on top of the rice! It's amazing! A dinner staple in our house!
Shout out to my niece, Brooxie. She got a hair cut today and is looking mighty fab! She also turns 2 at the end of the month, which is pretty exciting!
