Friday - Friday - Friday
Words to live by, from my good friend Mary Green:
"Life is too damn short to be a square."
Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend to the fullest!
Blog
I read this post today on Dear Baby and it really struck a cord with me. Before I was pregnant with Jonathan, having a baby seemed to be an easy process. You get pregnant, have a baby, life is perfect. Then when it all comes crashing down, and devastation hits you like it did us, you start to realize just exactly what a healthy baby really is. They are little miracle's from God. If you are a reader and have a healthy child, give them an extra kiss today and remember not to accidentally take that health for granted. I know you don't intentionally knowingly take your children for granted, but sometimes we just need to take a minute out of our days and thank God for the miracles He has given us.
Also, please keep a friend of mine in your prayers. Her little miracle is going to have to have some surgeries after he is born in October to fix some things. Pray for his strength so when he comes into this world, he will be a little fighter.

It's Hot!
In the summer, I want it to be cooler - In the winter, I wanted it to be warmer.... but not this warm!
Geeze Louise! Not a cool down in sight!
It makes me really want this:

and a whole lotta this:
And some of this on a crisp day:
Until then, we will just sit here. Sweating. Wishing. Hoping for cooler weather.

Family Post: 1
Meet Brooxie...
Photos taken by Erin - Chicago |
She is our little 3 year old firecracker of a niece. We don't get to see her as often as we would like, but every time we do see her, we sure do get a show. She is one of the smartest little girls I know. She loves Elmo, Barney, Jessica, giving people check-ups with her doctors kit, coloring, dolls, her pups and making her baby brother laugh.
Last night my sister-in-law, Sarah was sending pictures of Brooxie and her dad in her pool in the backyard. What a good dad! Just playing right along. I couldn't help but share these photos below with everyone. They make me smile!
Happy Tuesday.

Workin' for the WEEKENDS!
This weekend was especially fun because my Mom came to town for no reason but to have lunch and shop around for a little bit. I got a steal on a cute pair of shoes for $24.99 regular $149.99! I was so excited to have Mother T in town, and I am pretty sure Mr. Tank was, too :)
When my mom left, Jack and I decided to go to Waterfront Grill for dinner. It was our first time to go and if you live in the Tulsa area, I would definitely suggest it! The atmosphere was awesome, they had a WONDERFUL menu and the wait staff was so nice. I also loved the bar area. They had a wine tap which I thought was pretty cool. I had never seen one before - or maybe I had but just never paid much attention. It was neat. After dinner since we were out South, we took a drive down memory lane and drove by Jack's house he grew up in. We went home after our drive and sat on the back porch and listened to music and drank wine. It was the best night in a long time. We had so much fun! Can't wait until next weekend!
Have You Ever
Logged onto Facebook knowing that maybe it wasn't the appropriate time? Like posting something on someone's wall at 1am or uploading a mobile upload that you thought was funny at the time, but the next morning it's not so much funny as it is embarrassing? Ever "poked" and x-boyfriend or x-girlfriend? If so, you should go to Party America and pick up these napkins for your next get together.... as a reminder. I sure did get a good chuckle out of them on Friday!
Manic Monday
I am having one of those Mondays.
I like to use the self check-out at the grocery store. I think it is so easy to use and I like having my groceries tidy in their sacks. I put cold stuff all together in sacks, eggs and bread always in a different sack than the rest. Cans and bottles in a sack, you get the picture.
Today during lunch I went to the grocery store. Hurrying around because I only have an hour. I get all of our groceries for the week, checkout, I have all of my bags back in my cart to take out, reach in my purse... You guessed it, no wallet. I went to the pool on Sunday and threw my wallet in my beach bag. I don't like taking my purse to the pool, but I like having money just in case and my ID. Today I was frantically looking through my purse for a debit card or credit card that might have slipped out of my wallet. I just wanted to pay - I didn't care what form of payment it was.
I am now back at work, grocery-less. Happy Monday!

The Countdown is ON!
In our house, my husband starts counting down the new season of college football in January. The moment after the National Championship is over. I made the countdown official this weekend on our kitchen chalkboard. It means nothing unless it is official in chalk at my house :)

Party Favors
These pictures have been in my phone awhile. I took them meaning to write a blog, but forgot - so here you go.
I was at my sister-in-law's house a few weeks back, eating a wonderful dinner. I noticed the cloth napkins we were using were so cute. Sarah and I started talking and I told her I wish I had more cloth napkins, they just look so nice, etc. etc. She told me the napkins they were using they received at the Rehearsal Dinner of a friend of hers. The bride's mom chose a fabric, cut in squares, sewed the edges, put on a little personalized fabric tag and that's it! I thought it was such an adorable and easy idea for any dinner party favor.
You can find fabric tags here on Esty.
