Full Weekend

This weekend went by fast!  I think it is because we are approaching the HOLIDAYS quickly!  Less than two weeks until Thanksgiving.  I can't believe I am already done Christmas shopping.... Well, I am done with everyone except for Mr. Tank :)  I will have to make a special trip to Pet's Mart and The Dog Dish for him!

Tank was being extra snuggly on Friday night.  We stayed in like we normally do on Friday nights.  Jack and I are WILD and CRAZY, but we love it!!!

After a great day and night in Norman on Saturday, Jack and I got up early and made our way back to Tulsa.  I went to Banana and picked up a cute dress for Alexis' big wedding in December!  They had a friends and family coupon through today for 30% off.  Such a great deal!  Right now when you purchase in the store they are also handing out 40% off coupons to use in December.  Be sure to check it out!

What's for dinner tonight at the Judd house?

Slow-Cooker Tortilla Soup
1 pound shredded, cooked chicken
2 cans Rotel
1 (10oz) can Enchilada Sauce
1 Medium Onion chopped
1 Can Black Beans
2 Cloves Garlic, minced
2 Cups Water
2 Cups Chicken Broth
1 t Cumin
1 t Chili Powder
1 t Salt
1/4 t Black Pepper
1 Bay Leaf
1 (10 oz) pkg Frozen Corn
1 T Chopped Cilantro

Put all ingredients in your slow cooker stir it up and cook on HIGH for 4 hours covered.  YUMMM!!!
*  My variations:  I bought a Roasted Chicken in the deli section and just pulled the chicken off the bone.  Jack likes spicey food, so for Rotel, I used on can Mild and one can Hot.  Topped the soup off with a little shredded cheese and served with tortilla chips!  Enjoy!

Ready to Eat!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Dining Room Drapes

Let me start off by saying Happy Veterans day to all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our US Military.  I appreciate everything you do for this country.  Thank you for serving and protecting us each day.

I have been thinking I want to warm up my house a little by adding drapes to my dining room.  I had looked around at Pottery Barn and Pier One for panels but I couldn't find a design or solid I liked.  Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased this wonderful fabric ($21.99 per yard on sale 30% off).  It is very thick and a nice quality.  I really love the print.

Last night I made the drapes myself.  I used the no-sew iron on hem tape and my trusty 'ol iron that hasn't been out since probably the last time my mom was in town and Jack needed something ironed (KIDDING, I iron every once in awhile).

I think they turned out pretty good.  The lighting on the pics below don't really do the print justice.  The coloring is kind of off, but you get the idea of it.

Brooke, being the WONDERFUL decorator she is told me that now-a-days people like a little "puddle" at the bottom of their drapes.  Let them hang a little, they don't have to cut off right when the floor starts.  I am kind of thankful for this trend, I didn't have to make sure my panels were the EXACT same length!

I just hemmed each side with the iron tape then hung the rod and slid my clippies on!  So easy!  The tape is $1.99 a roll (be sure if you are using a heavier material to get the SUPER).  The clippies are $6.99 for a package of 12.  I bought all of this and my curtain rod at Hobby Lobby.  If you go to their website, they have a 40% off coupon each week you can use on one item.  I used it on my full price curtain rod.  The fabric was already marked 30% off.

Last night the Country Music Awards were also on.  Jack and I were watching in the midst of all my drape making.....  Carrie Underwood is so so pretty and I heart Taylor Swift and George :)

Happy Thursday.

Mile High Magic!

Jack is in Denver this weekend for tonights Monday Night Football GameBroncos vs. Steelers.  I wanted to post this cute pic of him.  He is so excited for the game.  Tank and I will be watching it from Tulsa tonight looking for Jack and the boys on TV.  The sweatshirt he is wearing he bought at http://www.junkfoodclothing.com/  It is this great website with tons of vintage shirts, sweatshirts, etc.  Check it out!  Goooooooo Broncos!

Tank is a little mad his dad is not here to watch the Broncos game with him, so he is pouting sitting in Jack's chair preparing to watch it by himself :(

Christmas Excitement!

Friends, I have a confession.......I get really excited for Christmas!  I normally start listening to Christmas music and watching Christmas movies around the beginning of October.  This year I think I started listening to Christmas music at work back in September!!!  The movie watching has taken a downhill slope - Jack (Scrooge) doesn't believe in watching Christmas movies unless it is in fact, December.  He thinks I am CrAzY!!!  Yesterday while running errands I came across this dog sweater for Tank.  I am going to get him in the Christmas spirit even if Thanksgiving hasn't arrived yet.  We tried it on last night.... SO HANDSOME!  $9.99 at Target.

One more pic I would like to share with everyone.... This is how Tank was sleeping this morning (I guess the holidays have already worn him out):

Merry Chrismtas to all, and to all a good night!
