I completed my first Half Marathon this weekend!  I ran in the Route 66 Marathon / Half Marathon.  I am so glad I accomplished this goal!  What a wonderful feeling it was crossing that finish line!  Thanks for all of the well wishes and good lucks!  Mother T and Jack were out on the course supporting all of us as we ran by!  Margo and Clay even had signs in their yard for us!  I want to say a big congrats to Clay Kindred for completing his first FULL MARATHON!  I would also like to say congrats to a few other friends who ran the half marathon:  Natalie, Emily, Britni, John, Margo, Lacy, Brittany, FBC Choctaw Runners, the list goes on!  What a fun / exhausting / accomplished day!  Looking forward to stuffing my face with Turkey and Dressing on Thursday :)

A Big Thank You

To all of the men and women who have so graciously served and are currently serving this wonderful country.  Happy Veteran's Day!  I Googled my granddad today.  He died before I was born, but I always hear stories about him.  I found some government archives today that told me a little bit more about his enlistment.  It's amazing what you can find on the internet these days.

"Chasing Ben Affleck?!"

Tulsa News Channel 8 has gone too far.  Two nights ago, a commercial came on the TV and Jack was like "Have you seen this?" and rewound the DVR.  I found myself watching a commercial that is basically begging Ben Affleck to call into the news station and talk with them.  They start flashing News Channel 8's phone number on the TV screen, "Ben Affleck, if you are watching this, give us a call, we'd love to talk with you".  It is SO CREEPY.  I have been searching YouTube all morning, but cannot find a video clip of this.  I will keep working on it and post  if I come across it.  I DIE.

Then Channel 8 goes one step further.  Please see the story link below and video (they mention "snooping" and "stalking" one too many times in their video and story reports).  I bet Ben Affleck didn't think shooting a movie in Bartlesville, OK would be so annoying.  News Channel 8 has become the TMZ of Tulsa.

Please click on the "Ben Affleck Sighting!" icon to the left and watch the video...... As if nothing else is going on in our community.  Sure, people are out of work, there are pot holes on Peoria that are bigger than Grand Lake, people are being murdered and robbed, some Tulsan's can't afford food or clothing for themselves or their children, we have troops overseas fighting in a war and many have not made it home....... But by all means, let's all take time out of our day to "stalk" Ben Affleck.  Forget reporting on all of the necessary things, News Channel 8.  Just keep creepin' on the Affleck Family.  I hear that Hollywood stars hate having their privacy, anyway.......

Happy Halloween

Just a quick note to wish everyone a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  I hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

We get to see precious Beckett from "The Hood Life" (http://mattandanniehood.blogspot.com/) tomorrow night dressed  up in his little giraffe outfit!  Mom and Dad will be pulling him around to a few houses in his new Radio Flyer wagon.

Here are two kiddos I won't be seeing this weekend, but I am so excited their Mom's have already shared plenty of photos with me!  Here are a few!  You are never to young or old to have fun during this time of year!

My little Hot Dog, Grace

Vincent, he will be supplying his own Milk this weekend!

Tulsa Run

This Saturday Jack and I will be running in the Tulsa Run, along with a few friends.  My friends Natalie and Emily and I have all been training since somewhere around July.  I never thought I would be able to run the distances I have been running the past few months.  It just goes to show how your body is capable of doing just about anything you push yourself to do.  This weekend's run is 9.3 miles (15K).  The girls and I have not only decided to run in the Tulsa Run this weekend, we are actually going to take it one more step and run in the Route 66 Half Marathon in November, which is 13.1 miles!!!  But let's not get ahead of ourselves.  Item #1 up for business, complete this weekend's race.  Here is the map of the route we will be taking:

After the run, we plan on celebrating with lunch and cocktails on a patio!  Then, watch the Sooners dominate Colorado that night!  Anyone in the Tulsa area, feel free to come out and support us at the finish line!

What's Been Going on Lately..... In Pictures

I purchased this new Dylan's candy bar table book.  I love this book.  It reminds me of my girls trip to NYC that we took back in college.  great memories!
I made my first batch of Pumpkin Bread.
Eating Cheese and Crackers in bed.... Someone wanted some cheese!

Tank and Hef waiting on the Pizza Guy.

I never thought I would be the kind of runner that ran so far I would have to buy one of these.  It's amazing what you can do if you just put your mind to it.

Homemade Blueberry Cupcakes.  Just kidding, I made them from a box.  I just wanted to show off my Happy Everything Platter.  Oh and the cute napkins "What happens tonight will show up on Facebook tomorrow".

So pretty!  Took a trip to Under The Sun for some Fall Flowers!

I recently made chicken enchiladas.  Super yumm.  I layered them in a casserole dish instead of rolling them up.  Great recipe given to me by my mom's sister-in-law Debbie.
Mary sent me these evil eye bracelets this week!  I love them for two reasons.  #1 they remind me of my grandmother.  She use to have quite a few evil eye pieces around her house. #2 Mary called them our friendship bracelets.  Thanks, MARY GREEN!

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup!  Great recipe from the Food Network
It's Fall!  Mother T had a bale of hay last year, so I thought I should steal the idea this year.  How great are the pumpkins?  They were CHEAP too!

Okay, that is all for now!  Happy Thursday everyone!
