For the past few years, Jack and I have hosted Thanksgiving Dinner at our house. And when I say dinner, I mean a 1:30pm-2ish late lunch?! Isn't that when everyone eats "dinner" on the 24th of November? I make my Grandmother's turkey recipe and I'm so excited because this year is going to be the first year I use her turkey platter. Last year I used a platter with a pig on it #plattersthatdontremindyouofthanksgiving. Jack is also going to make a tenderloin. His dad used to always make tenderloin's for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so he wants to keep that tradition alive.
I think I will do my grocery shopping on Friday when I get off work. I have half day Fridays so I will be able to go during the day while HOPEFULLY everyone else is at work. I fear the thought of going to the grocery store the weekend before Thanksgiving. Will they run out of Turkeys? Will they have enough chicken broth? I must get my groceries soon!
A few things I am thankful for:
- Our Merciful God and the love He shows to me daily.
- My truly amazing / handsome husband. How did I get so lucky? Love isn't a big enough word to describe how I feel about him.
- Jonathan. What a miracle and gift babies are.
- VelcroDog. AKA - Mr. Tank, Mr. Baby, Magoo, Snick. This little guy brings so much joy and laughter into our home.
- My Wonderful Family.
- My Hilarious Friends.
- Prayer.
- Laughter.
i am so ready to eat some Thanksgiving Turkey and be with my family also! Good luck with the grocery shopping!!
