Football.

So I know I have been counting down the days until the baby arrives, but there is one count down I promise I haven't forgotten!  The start of college football!  There are 66 days until OU FOOTBALL begins!  Here are some things I am loving right now and think I should add to my wardrobe this Fall for the games:

Last Baby Shower!

What better way could I think of to shower baby Dawson for the last time than with my college girlfriends?!  They were so nice to host me a shower this past weekend and my friend/hostess Alexis said it best, the shower is worthy to be blogged about and pinned on pinterest.  It was just so cute, simple and classic.

Everything at the shower was based around Dawson and her initials.  Also, the shower was at 2pm, so I requested  no food and just desserts :)  That might have been the prego Jamie talking.  Haha.  The desserts were delicious and the company was even better.  I was so excited for everyone who could make it - and those who weren't there were definitely missed.  Thank you to my amazing hostesses:  Ande, Brooke, Lacy, Mary, Alexis, Madeleine, Karns and Sarah.  I will post a picture of these girls when I have uploaded the pictures on my own camera and from my mom's camera.

One of my favorite parts about the shower was Mary walking around and taking pictures of me and all of my guests with an instant camera!  Just like the Polaroid's back in the day, but just a little more updated/modern camera!  The guests signed their pictures and they put them in a book for me.  Super neat.
Mom and Sisters!  They have been at every shower I have had and it means so much to me!  I love you and so does Dawson!
Celebrating Baby Dawson that evening.  Perfect way to end a wonderful day!  Don't worry, this momma didn't drink any bubbly :)

32 Weeks.

32 weeks!  Okay, so I thought the time was going by quickly but now I feel like it's starting to slow down.  This morning I told Jack I feel like August 19th is never going to be here!  I'm so ready for Dawson's arrival and to not be pregnant anymore.  I'm giddy.

This week Dawson weighs about 3.75lbs and is about the size of a jicama (about 16.7 inches long).  Don't worry, I'll post a picture of a jicama in a second for those of you who don't know what this is.  I hadn't the faintest idea.  I mean make comparisons with easier fruit/veggies, Baby Center :)

This past week was busy, but like I said, I feel like it's starting to drag a bit.  I had a baby shower and then I hosted a wedding shower for my dear old friend Brooke that I grew up with.  She is getting married in October - let's hope some of this baby weight is gone before I have to slip into my bridesmaid dress.....

I feel great.  I seem to be growing at a rapid pace.  Baby Center says I should be gaining about a pound a week with half of that weight going straight to Dawson.  She will gain about half of her birth weight within the next 7 weeks.

I have been eating a lot of sweets.  Maybe that's why she's been so active in my tummy.  Sugar high, perhaps?  I feel like she's running out of room.  My stomach is getting tighter and tighter.  I still haven't seen stretch marks, so hopefully I can steer clear of those.  I don't know if I have mentioned this, but all I've been using is the Kiehl's Creme de Corps body lotion.  I love it!  Such a great lotion pregnant or not pregnant.  So moisturizing.
Here's the Jicama.
And here I am at 32 weeks on Sunday.  Wowzers.  I think my stomach is more along the lines of a jumbo basketball than a Jicama.

S'more Bites!

I helped host a wedding shower on Sunday for my friend Brooke.  One of the dessert items were these mini s'more bites that her sister made!  I wanted to share with all of you.  She said they were easy to make and they were SO GOOD!  Here's the link to the recipe!

Sunday's thought for the day.

When you feel like you're drowning in life, don't worry - Your Lifeguard walks on water.

My sweet mom sent this to my sisters and I last week.  Such a great reminder.  Happy Sunday!

Infant Seat Cover.

So my fabulously talented friend Jackie, and her mom Becky, made Dawson this super cute Infant Seat Cover!  I wanted to share with all of you.  I love the fabric choices they used.  You can find these covers on esty.com I'm sure, but how nice is it that mine was made by such special friends?  I know baby girl will really appreciate this if she's trying to sleep and we take her into a bright loud restaurant.  I also know she will appreciate that this cover will keep those weird-o strangers we pass from trying to touch her in the mall or in the grocery store :)  She appreciates her personal space like I do I'm sure.
Front view with the infant seat on the stroller
Side view!  As you can see, it just velcro's on the handle of the infant seat that is popped onto the stroller.  If you don't want the cover on, simply remove it and fold it up into your diaper bag.
The under side is yellow.  So when you flip it back to see baby, this is what you see.

I can't wait to get Dawson in her stylin' seat and stroller!  She is going to love grey and yellow!

Hospital Pics.

So I recently for the first time held up mine and Jack's hospital baby pictures together.  Some people tell us now that we kind of look alike.  What's funny is that statement couldn't be more false when looking at these baby pics!  So funny.  I had a good 1.6 lbs on him at least.  I was joking with him last week telling him I probably would have beat him up in the nursery.  He's just a dainty little thing :)  Who will Dawson look like?!?!  I can't wait to meet her!  Will she look like the chubby little Indian on the left or the skinny little white boy on the right?  Only time will tell!
Jack didn't have hair until he was about 1 or 2.  I had a some hair and it was dark.  Jack turned into a little toe head and had the prettiest head of blonde hair (and so handsome!).  I was blonde around Kindergarten/1st grade.  Could Dawson be a blonde?  Will she have her Dad's wide set nose?  Her mom's small eyes?  Will she be long or short?  Oh my goodness I'm so excited to meet her I can't stand it!  She's already the prettiest baby on the planet and I've only met her through Ultrasounds :)

Funny little chip clip.

I recently came across these chip clips.  When you squeeze them to un-clip them from a bag, they make animal noises.  Might be a good gift to someone who is trying to lose weight.  If I was going to open a bag of chips and heard a "Mooooo" or "Oink" sound, I might second guess those chips.  Maybe I should pick up some of these clips to help lose post baby weight?
Cute and funny none-the-less!

31 weeks.

This week Dawson hopefully is measuring over 16 inches long and weighs around 3.3 lbs.  Like carrying four navel oranges.  I am anxious for our appointment next week when we have our growth scan to make sure she's growing on track.  I'll definitely keep you all posted on that.  She's a mover and a shaker that's for sure - no matter what size she is.  I have been feeling her move around all morning.  I think partly because I am hungry.  My breakfast bar didn't tide her over apparently.
This past weekend Dawson attended her first professional baseball game (in my tummy of course).  It was so much fun.  We were in St. Louis celebrating grandmother Edith's 90th birthday.  I picked up Dawson a souvenir.
I feel pretty lucky.  I've been feeling good!  Not too many growing pains or back pains.  I find it's been getting harder and harder to get up out of bed in the middle of the night for my frequent bathroom breaks.  I now have to roll off the bed, as sitting up and leaning can be a little difficult :)  I love feeling Dawson kick although sometimes she catches me off guard and I jump a little!  Those jabs can definitely come as a surprise as you are sitting in a meeting or watching TV and not expecting them.

I still have yet to really buy any maternity clothes at this point.  I have bought a just a few dresses a couple of sizes up - but other than that, all of the maxi's and everything I have been wearing are my regular size.  Again - thank you summer pregnancy and making it easy to dress!  The tanks I have been wearing (like the one pictured above) are the Old Navy long ribbed tanks.  I just bought some in a large so they are long enough.  The jeans are the J Brand a friend loaned me.  They are so comfy!

Here are a couple of other pics from our little weekend trip.  We were SO SAD to leave Mr. Tank at camp Bow Wow - although they treat him wonderfully and we can see him on camera!  That makes it so much better.
Tank - the big white blob at the top of the camera.  Poor guy is not used to being around so many other pups!  He was exhausted and we saw him laying down a lot on camera.  You can always tell it's him because he sticks out that one back leg :)
We picked up Dawson a fun pair of "fancy shoes" in St. Louis!  She is a lucky girl - she has way better shoes than her momma does!  I just couldn't pass these up!
Jack, Grandmother Edith, Myself and her soon-to-be 6th great grandchild on her 90th birthday!
The Arch!  Gateway to the Mississippi!  Dress above from Target.
On Sunday when we got home and comfy Jack opened his Father's Day gifts.  Tank, Jack and Dawson now all have Broncos and Sooners gear for the upcoming season!  Happy Father's Day to the best Dad :)

Oaks.

Last weekend we attended the member guest at our golf club The Oaks.  Jack invited one of his best friends Todd.  It was a great weekend full of golfing, pooling, laying out, food and drinks.  Here are a few pictures from the weekend:
Madeleine - Todd's wife who happens to be one of my great friends!
Todd and Jack won 4th place in their flight!
Little sister Abby is dating one of Jack's good buddies.  She's in Tulsa a lot now - and I'm not complaining one bit!  I love having family come to Tulsa!
We're havin' a baby.
Had to sneak in a picture of me and my little VelcroDog Prince :)

Happy Saturday, Folks!

More Showers!

Have I mentioned how lucky I am?  I have some of the most fabulous friends ever.  Last week baby Dawson and I were showered twice!  Once in Tulsa and once in Choctaw (my hometown).  It makes me so giddy knowing all our friends and family are so excited for sweet Dawson to arrive!
My Cupcake Shower in Tulsa!  We decorated cute cupcakes, ate great food and sipped on wine, bubbly and lemonade of course for the pregos :)  Above are my AMAZING hostesses - Natalie, Britni, Sasha and Lindsay.
Sisters and Mom (Grammy)
I loved this dress.  You can get it HERE! So comfy!
My Cupcakes!  I was really impressed by some of my friends decorating skills!  All of the cupcakes looked fabulous after we were done :)
Hostesses at my Choctaw YaYa Shower!  These girls are life long friends:  Jackie who just had a baby girl Hadley, Nicole who has baby Wyatt due in July and Brooke who is getting married in October!  Much to celebrate in this group!
I loved the Bundt Cake!  They seem to be the popular thing these days!
Side shot!  Me and Mom - Grammy.  I also heart this dress!  My friend Allison wore it to a shower we went to the weekend before and I went out and snagged one for myself.  Get it HERE!

That's a wrap for these two!  Thanks again to everyone who came and to all of the beautiful and thoughtful hostesses!  Best friends in the world I tell ya :)
