Four Years.

Has it really been four whole years since Mr. Tank was born?  We found him online at www.whisperingpinestreasures.com and we were in L.O.V.E. from the moment we laid eyes on him.  We knew he had to be ours - and 8 weeks later he was.  Jack and I were married June 28th and picked up Tank shortly after.  I've never been more in love with a guy or a puppy in my entire life - even more so today if that's even possible.

Happy Happy Birthday to our first furry son!  We love you and couldn't imagine our lives without you!  You are going to be a fabulous big brother to Dawson!

Say CHEESE Birthday Boy!!!

Nursery Sneak Peek!

This past weekend my wonderful mom and sister came to help paint the nursery and start organizing.  Here's a little sneak peek.  I will do a big reveal after it's all completely finished :)
We cooked out and watched the Thunder game outside after our day of painting (and golf for Jack).  I don't know who was more exhausted, Lindsay, Mom, Jack, me or Tank....

28 weeks.

12 weeks to go!

This week, Dawson is the size of a Chinese Cabbage.  Measuring about 14.8 inches from head to heel.  She can open and close her eyes and even now has eyelashes!  Her eye sight is also beginning to develop.  Let's hope she gets her Dad's genes on this one.  I'm blind as a bat.  Speaking of, I need to get new glasses before her arrival.  I will want to see her at night during those middle of the night feedings :)
She is still VERY active.  I go to my last monthly doctors appointment on Thursday of this week.  After that, I will start going every two weeks!  The downhill slope to seeing our little girl is feeling great!

I feel great, but I can tell it's getting harder for me to do little things.  Even sitting on the floor and getting up from the floor seems to be a bit of a struggle.  I'm sleeping well besides the 1-3 bathroom breaks during the night.

Tank normally sits on my lap in the front seat when him, Jack and I ride in the car together.  I can no longer have him on my lap.  My stomach is just getting too big and it's uncomfy for us both - so this weekend when we were running errands, Tank of course got shotgun and I sat in the back.  Jack was driving Ms. Daisy.

A few more goodies arrived in the mail this week.  I will share those soon!

Monogramming

A pic I received today of cute little M in a shirt I monogrammed for him!  His big brother has a matching one :) Such cute boys!
After the beginning of June, I am going to put my machine up until September.  June and July are hectic with baby on the way - and she arrives in August!  I must get to working on her nursery during my nights at home.  If anyone has anything to be done, let me know.  I might possibly be able to slip a couple things in from time to time throughout the summer!

I appreciate all of the fabulous business and look forward to getting back to it in September!

27 Weeks.

This week I am 27 weeks along in my pregnancy with Dawson.  I think this past week I have started noticing the most changes.  My body is definitely changing.  Each morning I wake up, my tummy is getting bigger and bigger and it seems my hips and thighs and butt are, too.  Last week I also had a large does of back pain.  The left side of my back was in total pain.  Enough pain to call my doctor's nurse and my doctor to make sure nothing was wrong.  LUCKILY, after Friday, the back pain went away completely.  I honestly think it's my work chair and how I was sitting that was causing all of the pain last week.  My mom gave me this round pillow deal to strap on to my chair and so far this week, my back hasn't hurt once.  Thank GOODNESS!  Whew, I can tolerate pain okay - but that back pain last week - I could barely move!

This week Dawson is likely weighing in around 2lbs!  And she is the size of a head of cauliflower!  She's still sitting pretty low.  I definitely can feel a little extra weight in my pelvic area.  She's been on. the. move.  Last night she was so far out on my right side, I had a big bump on my stomach and she was just swimming around in there.  I love when she moves.  I find that when Jack and I are talking she moves the most.  If I notice her and tell Jack to come feel, we automatically both get really quiet and she stops.  She must like the sound of our voices because that's when she is the most active!  Also, Baby Center said this week Dawson's opening and shutting her eyes and even might be sucking her fingers!  Gosh, I wish we had another ultrasound in the last trimester!  I want to see her again so badly!

The nursery will be painted this weekend!  The color I finally picked out is "greyish" from Sherwin Williams. The other grey's I tried how had too much blue in them.  Luckily a friend came over and gave her opinion of how I needed a warmer grey.  And she was so right!  I think I found the perfect color!  Dawson's dresser was delivered this week.  It's white and cute and perfect.

This past weekend we had our FIRST BABY SHOWER!  Oh my goodness, it was awesome.  My sisters hosted a small shower for my family and it was a complete success.  We got a ton of great goodies and baby gear.  I think it's safe to say Dawson will be set in the clothing department as well.  Between what I buy and what others have been buying - I don't know where I am going to store all of these clothes!  Her dresser and closet will be busting at the seams!  My sister and Mom took pics on their cameras, so I will have to post pictures later, but here is one of Jack and I.
He came after the shower to help load up gifts and say hi to my Mema.

Speaking of Mema - she snagged this cute maxi at Marshall's and sent it to me.  I wore it to work with a black cardi over it.  Super cute.  Enjoy the elevator shot:
Mema also gifted us with the Baby Bjorn at my shower.  Jack has been so excited about the Bjorn.  We strapped it on him and put his mom's little pup in it on Sunday.  Tank was SUPER jealous.  I wonder what he will do when Dawson is hanging out in it?
For Mother's Day, Jack and Tank gifted me with a prenatal massage.  It was glorious.  I went last Friday for my 80 minutes of relaxation:
Memorial Weekend is coming up.  Which means the pool opens.  Which also means I needed to find a swimmy to fit this bod.  I never thought I would share a swimsuit pic on my blog, but here she is!  This is from Target.  Not Maternity, just a larger top and bottoms than normal.  Black long  tube top and black boy short bottoms - and as you can see, I need a little sun:
Last night I won this on Smocked Auctions :)  It's different than any I have purchased.  I love the blue and green and plaid and polka dot!  Her little initials will be on the front in navy.
And last but certainly not least, here is a pic I snapped of Tank last week.  He had been busy playing with his octopus when we got in bed and wiped himself out!  Such a sweet little guy.  He has his big 4th birthday come up on May 30th! I can't believe it!

Maxi.

Oh my goodness, I think it's fabulous being pregnant in the Spring and Summer.  Yes, a lot of people are worried I will be extremely hot come August, but I can always go inside - or stay inside.  I don't think it will be that bad.

My favorite part about being pregnant in the summer is being able to wear maxi dresses and skirts.  They are basically all I wear these days.  Even to work.  I just wear a little jacket or cardigan over them as most of the dresses are skinny strap and the maxi skirts I wear with tank tops.

I literally haven't bought one maternity thing since I have been pregnant this time around.  I bought a pair of shorts during my last pregnancy and this pregnancy my friend Brooke loaned me a pair of her oh-so-comfy J Brand skinny jeans.  I could live in them.  But this post isn't about skinny jeans - so moving along...  I do think I will have to buy some maternity tank tops here in the next couple of weeks.  My regular long tanks are getting shorter each day and I think in the next few weeks, they will just be too short.

I have bought three new maxi skirts from Old Navy recently and one from the Gap.  The beauty of this is I am not spending a ton of money at these stores and I am also buying items in my regular sizes so I will be able to wear everything next summer as well!  I also have bought some cute maxi dresses from the Gap and Target.  The most expensive things I have bought are two dresses from the Gap for $75.  Other than that, I don't think anything has been over $29.

Here are a few I have bought recently:
The Gap - I bought this in pink & orange and blue & blue.  I think the Chevron look is very slimming.  My friend Britni at B+3 had on a Chevron type dress at dinner this past weekend.  Super cute.
Target.
This maxi skirt is from Old Navy.  I have bought two of these in black and one in a heather gray.  I love pairing them with form fitting tank tops.
Old Navy.  I bought a really cute purple tank to wear with this.  I'm actually wearing it at work today!

Happy Maternity Shopping to all of you prego's out there!  My friend Erin at MIE Likes also posts super cute maternity options from time to time.  Be sure and check her out!

25 & 26 Weeks.

At 25 weeks, Dawson was the size of a Rutabaga and an 26 weeks, she's the size of an English Hothouse Cucumber.  Hmmm.  Weird..  It's also weird to me how different these two things look:

Week 25 was stressful.  I think my hormones started getting the best of me.  I was tearing up at the drop of a hat.  I even cried during the Ellen DeGeneres Mother's Day Special - and it was all exciting and fun!  All of the pregnant mom's in the audience were getting gifted with tons of free baby gear!  Such a fun thing - and I was like crying over it.  It definitely started to taper off and by this weekend, I was back to my old self.  I was definitely sweating the small stuff last week for no apparent reason.  Chill, Jamie.

I've been feeling great!  Yesterday on Mother's Day (and my official week 26 start date) I woke up to Dawson just swimming around and kicking in my tummy.  I took a video of it, but I can't seem to get it to upload to youtube.  It's amazing to see my belly move and to feel her getting stronger and stronger.  I think she may take after her momma and be a little cheerleader - I could feel her working on her back-handsprings yesterday!  Don't worry, Dad - she can still play golf, too :)  And speaking of, have I mentioned Jack brought home his first pair of clubs the other day?  His grandpa bought them for him and they are so cute!  They are in a little white golf bag.  Dawson will get a lot of use out of them.  Unless she's a lefty like me, then we will have to get her a new set.  What am I going to do on the weekends when Jack takes Dawson to golf?  Maybe they will be nice and let me ride around in the cart with them :)

Jack and I have been cooking at home a lot and trying to eat as healthy as possible.  Of course you'll find me eating chicken tenders from time to time and I've been a sucker for all desserts lately.  Our weekends are really the time we let loose and eat whatever.  But my biggest craving now is sweets.  Cookies, ice cream, you name it!

I am on the count DOWN now.  I like saying "I only have 14 more weeks until her arrival!".  She's actually kicking up a storm as I type this blog entry.

I go at the end of May to have the glucose test done.  Then after that, I start seeing Dr. R every two weeks! That's so wild to me.  I feel like things are really moving.  We are painting the nursery on Memorial weekend and by then her dresser should be in as well.  I have my first BABY SHOWER this weekend.  My sisters are throwing me a little family shower which I am so excited about!  I'll be sure to blog about it next week.

Mother's Day!

What a fabulous day yesterday was.  Getting to spend time with Jack and Tank - it was a perfect day.  Jack and I went to brunch after church and relaxed all day.  We got pedicure's on Saturday and Jack and Tank gifted me with a prenatal massage that I will be enjoying this coming Friday!  I can't wait for that!!  Tank snuggled with me in the chair yesterday afternoon and then we cooked out last night.  It was a great Mother's Day!

I haven't been a mom to a baby here yet, but I've been a mom ever since I found out I was pregnant with Jonathan.  I still miss him everyday and wish he was here.  I am so thankful for him and everything he did in my life when I was pregnant with him.  He will always be my first child and first pregnancy.  21 weeks of pure joy.

I thank God everyday for how he has worked in my life and in Jack's life.  He has blessed us with another pregnancy and we are so excited to have Dawson arriving in August.  We found out we were pregnant with her at the perfect time.  Right during the holidays.  My heart had been longing to be pregnant again and I wanted a baby here with me so badly.  My prayers were answered!  God is giving us a little girl and I'm overwhelmed with emotion every time I think about Him giving us such a wonderful gift.  August 19th can't come soon enough!  Dawson, you are already so loved and we are anticipating your arrival!!!  And your closet will be full when you get here... :)

My sweet bullie baby and I last night.  (Yes, I wear scrunchies at night when I put my hair up...)

Catching Up!

I've been MIA and I'm sorry.  I don't know where last week went.  I was super busy at work and I try not to get on the computer a lot once I get home.

A lot has been going on since I last updated everyone.  I went to Dallas to visit my friend Alexis' baby boy, Wesley, my bestie growing up had a baby girl, Hadley.

Here is Wesley.  Isn't he a doll?  I love him so much and wish they lived closer so I could see him every day!  Momma and Wesley were doing just great and settling in at home nicely.  Alexis' mom Franni was also in town - I was lucky enough to get one of her cookies fresh out of the oven!  She's so excited to be a first time grandma!
And here is a picture of my friend Jackie who just had her little girl Hadley.  This is the day after she had a c-section.  She's still in the hospital in this picture.  It amazes me because she definitely doesn't look like a person who just had a baby!!!
One of Jack's birthday presents came in and of course, it's hard for me to keep secrets or presents for too long, so I gave him this present early.  Custom New Balances!  Gwyneth Paltrow mentioned them on her GOOP weekly emails and my friend Ande purchased a pair.  After I saw them, I knew it would be a great gift for Jack.  He wears tennis shoes to work everyday, so he wears his out pretty quickly.  I went with grey and blues.  I think they turned out super cute and he loves them!  His initials on the back are my favorite detail.

Anchors Away!

JCrew has captured my heart once again - do any of these items come in maternity sizes?  Even the men's and children's anchors - I.  Die.  I want to take all of this summer cuteness and wrap it up in a big bow.

Happy Summer, Ya'll!

Three Cheers for Target!

My friend Ande, who loves all things Target, has informed me about some new lines coming to Target this Sunday, May 6th.  One of the lines is a dog line called Polka Dog Bakery!  There is a look book album on Facebook.  Tank's birthday is coming up on May 30th and he will definitely need some of these new colorful toys and collars!
Be sure and check out Target and snag some goodies for your little furry friend!

23 AND 24 Weeks.

I was going to do a 23 week post last week after my doctor's appointment, but last Thursday when I went in, Dr. R was delivering a new babe, so I had to reschedule for yesterday.  Now I have stumbled upon week 24!  Wow, time is flying.

So from last week to this week, Dawson has grown from the size of a large mango to the size of a large ear of corn.  She's measuring almost  a foot long and weighs over a pound!

I have been feeling fantastic.  Jack has been able to feel Dawson move like I had mentioned before.  It's just so neat.  I can even see her moving around from time to time when I am still.  Seeing a human moving around inside your stomach is pretty wild!  Jack and I just can't get over the miracle that's in my stomach.

Let's see, what else - at my 24 week appointment yesterday, my belly was measuring at 23 weeks - but that does not change my due date.  That's just what I'm measuring at right now.  I have gained a total of 8lbs thus far and Dawson's heartbeat was loud and strong in the 150's!  She flip flopped from one side of my stomach to the other while Dr. R was listening in on the heartbeat.  She had to move the probe from my right side to my left side - pretty funny.

I won a few things on Smocked Auctions last week and they already came in!  I can't believe I won!  The past few things I have ordered have been "pre-orders".  When you actually have to bid, I find it so hard - that page has SO MANY PEOPLE, it's hard to win anything!  I was determined to get my hands on these two items below -
I think I will monogram her name or initials in a teal or purple on the front.
I'm SO GLAD I bid on this outfit.  Even more darling in person.  The back is my favorite!
This weekend we also tried 6 sample paint colors for the nursery.  Here is a sneak peak of the 3 we are deciding between:
They are all three Sherwin Williams.  When we decide the final paint color, I will be sure to let everyone know.  Who knew it was so difficult to find a good grey!  The other three shades were WAY too dark.  We don't want Dawson's nursery looking like a dungeon.

Oh and one last thing.  Baby Oliver had a big surgery on his spine and bowel this past week.  Please keep him in your prayers.  Today might be the first day his mom gets to hold him since Friday.  Please pray for his complete healing throughout the coming weeks.  Keep on keepin' on little guy!  We love you and your amazing mom and dad :)
